About the Event
The keynote speaker for the ILA 2012 Annual Conference will be Michael Dowling, director of the American Library Association's International Relations Office. He is involved in promoting global awareness of libraries and library relations throughout the world. For example, he has been influential in The Campaign for the World's Libraries, a public education campaign of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. The core messages of the campaign reflect the same kinds of themes we want to promote in Idaho:
- Libraries are changing and dynamic places.
- Libraries are places of opportunity.
- Libraries bridge the world.
A vibrant and enthusiastic speaker, Michael Dowling will help us all to see that our place in Idaho is indeed an important place in the world of
libraries!
