Speaker's Bio/Recent Trainings
As a member services librarian at BCR, Linda provides pragmatic training on cataloging standards and practices, including The Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd ed., and the MARC formats. She also helps to keep library technical services staff aware of new developments in the field, such as non-MARC metadata standards and potential changes in cataloging standards. She believes strongly in the value of bibliographic control in providing improved access to library and information resources and enjoys helping library staff improve their skills and increase their confidence in that area.
Linda came to BCR from the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she spent several years in both technical and public service positions. She holds a BA in Political Science and Business Administration and an MLS from the University of Pittsburgh.
