Speaker's Bio/Recent Trainings

Paul Irving received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1990 and has a background in social service and community outreach. His commitment to the community-building power of the Internet led him to study networking technology and eventually found Insite Web Publishing. As a legally-blind person, Paul has a special interest in Web usability and accessibility issues.

Paul has consulted on dozens of Internet and intranet projects in key positions including project management, marketing, design, information architecture, technical lead, Web development, publication and post-production. Paul has valuable experience developing standards-based websites that are compliant with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Accessibility Initiative. His professional focus is on website information architecture (IA). He has consulted on and deployed large-scale website IA for clients such as Clark County, Washington, City of Kent, Washington, Kalamazoo Public Library and the Multnomah County Library.  Paul is also responsible for the redesign of Northwest Central (nwcentral.org).
