Annual meeting of the Pacific Northwest Chapter/Medical Library Association (PNC/MLA) being held at the Hotel Monaco in downtown Portland. A hotel reservation form is available via the PNC blog and on the conference website.

Continuing education, held on October 9 and 10, includes sessions on creating effective presentations, working with information overload, understanding services for mobile users, using third-party PubMed tools, and consumer-driven participatory health care.
Speakers include Lawrence Welleck (Portland State University) discussing public health, Dr. Erick Turner (Oregon Health & Science University) discussing publication bias, and Jeff Crump (Mercy Corps) discussing the role information plays when responding to disasters.
