Bio/Description

Pam has been a practitioner of the developmental approach to information literacy instruction for many years. She has presented her constructivist framework for adult learners (community college) at LILAC (2013).  She is an active participant in a community of practice for "reading apprenticeship" at her college as well. She has been a Reference Librarian at Portland Community College, Rock Creek Campus, since 1996 and currently serves as Department Chair.

She is a founding member of the Teaching Learning Center at the Rock Creek campus, Portland Community College, which provides professional development opportunities for faculty and staff. She has served on the college's Learning Assessment Council since 2010.

Pursuant to her deep interest in teaching excellence, Pam attended the inaugural Institute for Information Literacy Immersion (Plattsburg, 1999) and the Intentional Teacher Immersion (Chevy Chase, MD 2006).

She holds memberships in the American Library Association (ACRL,EBSS, IS, LIRT); Oregon Library Association; and the American Association of Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC).
