WLA 2012 Moving Staff Training from In-person to Online

Resource Type: Handout

Topics: Other

Keeping staff skills up-to-date in the constantly changing library is a challenge. You want training to be just-in-time, cost effective, and easily accessible to staff. Is e-learning the answer? What is involved in moving an existing staff training program online? How does your library support the e-learning that staff are involved in? Panelists discuss how to determine what kinds of e-learning or blended learning to choose, how to engage learners in an online environment, whether and how existing training content can be delivered online, along with some best practices for support of e-learning. Although focused on staff training, the discussion will also be relevant to those developing public training programs.
