Oregon students in grades 3‐12 are forming reading battalions! They are armed with great books and their weapon is knowledge. Find out how OBOB was developed, with the support of a grant, as a reading motivation and comprehension program which promotes team work and academic excellence. School librarians from various communities worked together to blend disparate local reading competitions into a single coordinated statewide program with a regional/state tournament. How local OBOB programs impact public library services will be explored.
