Umatilla and Morrow Counties partnered during summer of 2022 to encourage residents to embark on a Library Road Trip. Each public library dispensed personalized “brag tags” (tokens) that participants could collect at each library that they visited. From Ukiah to Irrigon and Ione to Milton Freewater, families spent time together exploring libraries around the two counties. The program was incredibly cost-effective to libraries in Umatilla and Morrow counties and created opportunities in the form of a new adventure for each participating family. Intentional focus on connection and engagement helped steer this summer program to create fun for families while showcasing how different each library is and how one card can be used at all of them at no cost.
