Description
This poster will highlight the Toledo Public Library’s participation in Community Webs (a project by the Internet Archive and Archive-It) to create a historical record of the local web. The Library now regularly archives the websites of local and regional governments, cultural institutions, and other organizations. This project supplements and empowers a wider effort to expand the library’s digital collections, and to preserve valuable historical documents that are often, by their nature, assumed to be ephemeral. Note: This poster session satisfies the outreach requirement of the Toledo Public Library’s Community Webs grant.
