Description
The rise of book challenges/bans in public libraries is a concern to both librarians and patrons. Our research team at the University of Washington collected data from libraries around the United States and analyzed it to look at themes in rhetoric and language. We wanted to assess how these themes have shifted over the past 10 years as the conversation around book bans has grown nationally. In this session, we present our research findings and discuss how to use this information to inform conversations with concerned patrons.
