The Youth Services ConsultantsfromtheOregon and Washington State Libraries will give an overview of statewide systems changes in early learning, specifically Washington’s Race to the Top Early Learning Grant and Oregon’s Early Learning Council. These systems changes are differentin each state, but both provide similar opportunitiesforlibrariesto play a largerrole in early literacy than ever before. A panel of four librarians,two from each state, will discuss what they are doing locally to engage early childhood partners in support of state wide goals around early learning.
