Description
Learn how a partnership between libraries, local organizations, and a community college built a program to increase the capacity of participating organizations to provide low literacy tutoring to adults. The Linn Benton Community Literacy Partnership provides literacy tutoring to adults who read below a 5th-grade level, in either English or Spanish. The Partnership also provides training and support to literacy tutors and learning materials to both students and tutors. Participating libraries have leveled adult literacy materials, in both Spanish and English, available for checkout. An IMLS grant provided funds to get the Partnership up and running, but now the Partnership is fully volunteer run.
