Teen Mental Health: After the Pandemic – What’s Next?

Speakers: Ian Duncanson, Beaverton City Library; Craig Leets, Lines for Life; Chris Bouneff, National Alliance on Mental Illness Oregon: Parker Preston, Olalla Center; Hayley Shapiro, HOOTS

Description:
While the causes are debatable, experts agree that large numbers of teens are in a mental health crisis these days. How can libraries address this crisis with the teens that come through our doors or access our resources? This session will bring together representatives from organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness who provide mental health resources to youth for a discussion about teen mental health trends in the wake of the pandemic and beyond. Learn what they have been seeing and the services provided to teens in Oregon with information that can be shared by libraries through presentations and Q&A.
