Since 2020, Garden Home Community Library has actively worked to build a system which supports both staff and patrons. We’ve increased historically low staff salaries by prioritizing pay equity over low-traffic open hours, embraced remote work opportunities, and adapted services to efficiently reach more library users, all while our staff remind one another to resist a sense of urgency. Even with these changes, we have set circulation records, cultivated new library users and donors, and continued to receive positive feedback from our patrons. Session attendees will hear our story and learn how to focus on collaboration and communication to build a cohesive, satisfied, efficient team. Take the first, audacious steps towards co-creating the library of your dreams!
